John A. Boyd, Attorney
John grew up in Salina, Kansas, and is an associate in the firm. He attended Kansas University, where he met his wife, Carri, and received his Bachelors in Science in Business Administration in 2003. John received his law degree at the Washburn University School of Law in 2006. After college, John and his family moved to Ottawa in 2007.
John practices primarily criminal defense and family law. John practiced family law with the Washburn Law Clinic, where he provided legal services to clients unable to afford private counsel. John served for over three years with the Johnson County Public Defender’s office, where he represented hundreds of felony defendants on charges ranging from forgery to first degree murder, and he won a number of felony jury trials. John has presented continuing legal education classes to fellow lawyers on domestic violence law and DUI defense.
John is currently the President of the Franklin County Bar Association, and he is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, and the Kansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is licensed to practice in all state courts of Kansas as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas.
